IEEE ICIP 2016 Welcome Reception

The welcome reception location can be easily reached by using the Metro Light Rail from the Airport, Convention Center, and several of the Hotels.

The METRO Light Rail runs from central Phoenix, with a stop located at the Heard Museum, through downtown, Tempe (and right along the ASU campus), to Mesa in the east. Stations are close by and run right by some of the area’s top attractions, like the Heard Museum, Phoenix Art Museum, the Arizona Science Center, and many more.

A one-way pass on the METRO Light Trail costs $2.00 or an all-day pass is $4.00, which can be purchased at the ticket vending machines at each station. During the week, trains generally run every 12 minutes from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. On weekends, it runs about every 15 minutes from 5 a.m. until 2 a.m. View the entire light rail schedule on Valley Metro's website.

2016 Award Dinner & Show

The IEEE ICIP 2016 Award Dinner & Show (previously called Banquet) will take place on the evening on Tuesday 27 September at the Boulders Resort in Carefree, Arizona.

The evening will include a pre-dinner reception with Hors-D'Oeuvres among the breath-taking natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert and natural boulders formation, three-course dinner at the award-winning Boulders resort, and exquisite entertainment!

Busses will be available to transport the attendees free-of-charge leaving at 5:35pm from the Convention Center.

Student Career Luncheon

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) is pleased to organize the Student Career Luncheon at ICIP 2016. The Student Career Luncheon takes place at ICASSP and ICIP yearly. Students will meet representatives from industry, who will introduce their companies and job opportunities. Company representatives will also have the opportunity to interview and recruit attendees during the event. Students and fresh graduates who have registered for ICIP 2016 can attend this event for free, but SPS membership is required As we have limited seats for the event, priority will be given to senior PhD students; paper quality will also be considered.

Young Professional Networking Event

The IEEE Signal Processing Society hosts this networking event for its young professional members in conjunction with ICIP 2016. Connect with other young professionals and industry professionals to exchange ideas, share resources, and discuss careers and entrepreneurship in a casual setting. Registration is required for attendance.


Visual Innovation Award Finalists' Luncheon and Keynotes

The Visual Innovation Award was initiated to recognize pioneers of transformative technologies and business models in areas related to visual processing, visual communications, computer vision, computational imaging, and visual-based applications. The Award showcases innovations that have had great impact on human experiences with technology or are anticipated to do so in the near future.

Out of the received nominations, seven finalists were selected through voting by the Award Committee. The seven finalists will be competing on-site at IEEE ICIP 2016 for the Visual Innovation Award and will present during a plenary forum session. Conference attendees can vote for the top winner using the IEEE ICIP 2016 App, with the deadline to cast all votes by 4pm on Tuesday, September 27th. The top-voted finalist will be announced and recognized at the IEEE ICIP 2016 Award Dinner & Show that same evening.
